On 11 July 2024, the Prime Minister met with President Erdoğan of Türkiye at the NATO summit.
The Prime Minister welcomed the deep ties between the two countries and acknowledged the significant contribution that Turkish communities provide to the culture and economy of the UK. He stated that Türkiye was a hugely important NATO ally and expressed the UK's desire to deepen the bilateral relationship.
The President discussed his aspiration to strengthen the bilateral relationship across various sectors including trade, tourism, defence, counter-terrorism, energy, and the economy.
They also discussed Ukraine and appreciated the enhanced support provided by this NATO summit.
Regarding the Middle East, the Prime Minister expressed his desire to see an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the release of hostages and increase aid.
