Sudan: A Chance for Peace ?

Ceftus hosted a meeting in the House of Commons titled ‘Sudan: A Chance for Peace ?’ with the participation of Sudanese academic politicians, UK-based Sudanese experts, and British MPs.
The roundtable discussion was moderated by Rachael Maskell MP, who is the Chair of the APPG for Sudan and South Sudan.
Sudan’s former Minister of Justice and lecturer in the International and Comparative Law Department at the University of Khartoum, Nasredeen Abdulbari, discussed the current political atmosphere and the possibility of forming a coalition government in Sudan.
Another speaker at the event, Sudanese academic and political expert Dr. Goni Mustafa A. Sharif, highlighted the challenges and obstacles to achieving permanent peace in Sudan.
Laura Kyrke Smith, a member of the APPG, and Lord Popat were also present and spoke at the event.
