CEFTUS is pleased to host a special talk entitled “The Art of Photography in Explaining the World” on 10 May at Troia Southbank Restaurant, County Hall, London.

The event will feature Coşkun Aral, an internationally recognised photographer and journalist, who will explore how photography serves as a powerful tool in documenting, interpreting, and explaining global events, social change, and human stories. Drawing on decades of professional experience, the talk will examine the ethical, cultural, and narrative dimensions of visual storytelling in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

The discussion will reflect on photography’s role in shaping public understanding, influencing opinion, and preserving historical memory, with particular attention to conflict zones, humanitarian crises, and cross-cultural perspectives.

This event forms part of CEFTUS’s ongoing programme of talks and discussions that provide an open and independent platform for expert insight into global affairs, culture, and communication. The evening will conclude with a moderated Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speaker.
